WHAT’S HAPPENING
The Qatar Balloon Festival 2nd edition is a 10 day festival of Hot Air Balloons where 35 balloons will be participating from around the world.
The event has been scheduled to coincide with three major events in the country:
1. Qatar International Food Festival: 26 Nov – 15 Dec 2021
2. FIFA Arab Cup 2021: 30 Nov – 18 Dec 2021
3. Qatar Live 2021: 01 – 18 Dec 2021
4. Qatar National Day: 18 Dec 2021

Building on the success of the previous three editions, the Qatar Hot Air Balloon Festival is gearing up for its 5th edition, planned from December 12th to 21st. This spectacular event is intended to attract even more visitors and make Qatar a must-visit global destination for hot air balloon enthusiasts.
Sunrise Balloon Launches
The sunrise launches are going to be just as the name says, at sunrise, and if you do not want to miss them you will have to wake up a tad bit earlier and either watch the skies or come join in at our take-off points and witness the launching of over 50 balloons!
Tethered Flights
While you are enjoying the performances and appetizing foods from various cuisines, and your children are having fun at the gaming zone, you will get the opportunity to see a Hot Air Balloon professionally tethered and anchored to the ground while floating just above you. The tethered balloons are just as dynamic and interesting, and if you’re lucky, you might even get to fly in one.
Nightglow
As the night will set over Doha and the festivities go on , enjoy a unique sighting of illuminated Balloons stacked next to each other while the pilots assure, they are glowing in the dark in perfect rhythm accompanied by the festival’s musical events from the main stage, creating a lovely vibrant atmosphere and an experience like no other.
Laser Shows
At the Qatar Balloon Festival, prepare to be dazzled as each evening lights up with an extraordinary laser and flame show that will leave spectators in awe. Four times a night, brilliant lasers will slice through the darkening sky, painting vibrant patterns and colors that dance to the rhythm of captivating music. Flames from powerful flamethrowers will roar to life, adding a fiery dimension that intensifies the spectacle and mesmerizes the crowd. Together, the harmony of lights, fire, and music will create a stunning and immersive experience, turning each show into a thrilling highlight of the festival that visitors won’t soon forget.
Playground
In addition to being fascinated by the striking display of Hot Air Balloons, the younger crowd will have more to look forward to. A special arena has been designated for all kinds of different games that young ones and adults can enjoy during their visit to the festival.
A host of games will be held at the venue including carnival games, team games, football darts, VR games, themed jumping houses, and slides.
No matter the age, there will be something for everyone to try out. Make sure to bring the little ones along!
Food kiosks and trucks
It will be double the pleasure for foodies out there as the festival will have plenty of choices for food, which will be available at various kiosks and trucks spread across the venue.
Kite-building workshops
As part of the Qatar Balloon Festival activities, young children are invited to join our exciting kite-building workshops, where creativity takes flight! In these hands-on sessions, children will have the opportunity to craft their very own kites from scratch, adding personal touches by coloring and decorating them with their favorite designs. Under the guidance of our skilled instructors, they’ll learn the basics of kite construction and design, sparking their imaginations while picking up new skills. Once complete, they’ll experience the joy of launching their kites into the sky, watching their colorful creations soar. This engaging activity is designed to inspire and entertain, offering a memorable experience for our youngest festival-goers.
